Gordon McColl is a licensed New York State home inspector and the owner of L.A.C. Home Inspections. Gordon started in the construction industry around 30 years ago at the age of 14, until he graduated high school, as an extra set of hands for his older brother who is a master carpenter. After graduating high school, Gordon chose to branch further into the construction industry and started studying the trade of plumbing. Gordon studied hands on in the plumbing industry, starting as a plumbers apprentice and climbed the ladders to become a master plumber. In November 2012, Gordon married his best friend Marisa Mccoll and expanded their family. Having what he said was the best opportunity, Gordon became a stay at home father for a few years. Trying to figure out a way to still be in the construction industry and spend quality time with his family, Gordon decided to go back to school and become a licensed home inspector. Studying under David Dodge of New York Home Inspector School, Gordon graduated to become a licensed home inspector. At the same time studying under David Dodge, Gordon worked to become a certified home inspector with the world largest organization of residential and commercial property inspectors known as Internachi. Gordon has earned a number of certifications with Internachi including the Internachi standards of practice, deck inspection , crawlspace inspection , roof inspection , building science and infrared thermal imaging inspection, just to name a few. He continues to educate himself in the field of home inspection and the science of buildings. For Gordon's down time he can be found spending quality time with his wife and children. Gordon also has a passion for the game of billiards. He has earn two invitations to Las Vegas, Nevada to play in the national team billiards pool tournament, were he became nationally ranked. Billiards and Home Inspections have two things in common: they take a well trained and skilled eye to be able to perform coupled with being passionate. Grateful for having both talents, Gordon loves teaching friends and clients or even people he has just met. Whether it is related to playing billiards or buying a home, Gordon strives to share the knowledge he has with the information he's uncovered to make the process a little less stressful while buying your first (or fourth) home or banking your first eight ball.
